NUISANCES

(CHAPTER 215 ANDERSON CITY ORDINANCE)

 

GRASS, WEEDS ETC

 

215.010  any grass, weeds or poisonous vegetation I.E. poison ivy etc cannot exceed 12 inches in length. The Mayor of the city may himself or appoint a city employee to hold a hearing on the grass to determine if it is a nuisance. If it is the city workers will be ordered to cut the grass and the property owner/person in control of the property will be billed for the mowing.

 

JUNK AUTO’S AND NUISANCES

            

215.050  No person within the city can keep a vehicle that cannot move on its own power, is not registered or is otherwise disabled on their property. Also it is illegal to keep any item that may cause a health issue such as standing water, harbor vicious wildlife or insects that could cause harm to a person or damage property.

            

215.110-215.130  When someone has been cited and the property is deemed to be a Nuisance the city may obtain an order of abatement where the city workers clean the property and store the items taken until the property owner pays the bill or 90 days when the property will be disposed of or auctioned off to pay for the bill (any excess money would go back to the landowner).
